Medical massage is massage performed to address a specific medical condition. Protocols are usually applied by the therapist for optimum results. Usually these treatments are joined together with a D.C. or P.T. and P.C.P. Although not covered through insurance we do provide receipts and soap notes if necessary for clients to be eligible for reimbursements. We are currently advocating insurance companies and the state of Illinois for independent coverage.
Our Experience with Medical Massage
We both graduated from the National School of Clinical Massage Therapy, The Soma Institute, in Chicago, Illinois. This school has a more in depth program directed specifically at the clinical aspect of massage as well as more hours than other schools. Our internship was at Kindred Hospital in Northlake, Illinois. We treated several patients to improve conditions overseen by Resident Doctors and Nurses. What we learned at this life changing experience is that YES! we can improve quality of life with specific Massage and Compassion. Over the years we have treated thousands of clients with different types of illnesses and conditions. For Example; Sciatica, Whiplash, Pre and Post Surgery, Over Use Injuries, Postural Dysfunction, Depression, and Accidents. Again we do not Diagnose, but we do treat the symptoms of these ailments.
